Short breaks Austria is based in the lakes and mountains of Austria's Salzkammergut. 

We aim to bring you the very best in short breaks from just a few nights to week long breaks, including great activities and friendly, top quality, family owned accommodation.

Short Breaks Austria offers a range of packages to suit all budgets.
We also offer a "Bespoke Service" where you can work with us to put together your ideal break in Austria.

Choose from breaks based in the historic spa town of Bad Ischl or the mountain village of Gosau.
 We also offer "Two-Centre" Breaks.

All our breaks offer self catering accommodation in 3 star apartments, with modern facilities. Continental Breakfast is available and the resident owners can always give you plenty of ideas of restaurants to sample in the area is you don't want to cook in the evening.

 Which ever break you choose you can relax, assured that everything will be organised so you get  the most from your holiday.

Easy flights with low cost airlines to Salzburg and Linz Airports flights

Transfer times of under an hour made Bad Ischl and Gosau ideal locations for a short break.

To get the most from your holiday we recommend you hire a car, but if you prefer not to there is excellent local transport.

Want someone to organise it all for you, but don't want to go on a normal "package holiday", then our  short breaks are for you.

 We have a range of short breaks and tailor made holidays on offer which are designed to let you get the most out of your time on holiday - even if you can only be away for a few days.

 To make life even easier you can add private airport transfers and continental breakfast room service to any break.

Bad Ischl - Heart of the Salzkammergut

Bad Ischl is a popular, year round, holiday destination, surrounded by the most stunning lakes and mountains. There is great walking, cycling and golf at the nearby Salzkammergut Golf Club. In winter there is excellent skiing in Bad Ischl  and a short drive away at Dachstein West and Postalm

The town was the favourite residence of the Kaiser Franz Josef, he spent over 80 summers here. Bad Ischl still celebrates its regal past with the Lehar Operetta Festival and Kaiserfest each summer. Enjoy coffee and cakes at Zauner's Konditorei or listen to the Kur Quartet at their daily free concerts in the summer. Relax at the newly refurbished Kaiser Therme spa where the water is a constant 32 degrees. Browse around the interesting shops in the town.

It is ideal as a centre for exploring the Salzkammergut region including Lakes Wolfgang , Traunsee and Atttersee, the world famous village of  Hallstatt, or a visit to the city of Salzburg.

Gosau - Winter Ski Paradise.

Gosau is a beautiful, wide and sunny village situated at 800m.  Visitors are drawn along the valley road towards the impressive Gosaukamm and Lake Gosau with its wonderful views of the Dachstein Glacier.   

Come and experience the un-crowded skiing, spectacular scenery and local hospitality of this impressive and welcoming region.This is a first class ski location with 140km of uncrowded pistes.  Beautiful tree lined runs with something to offer all levels of skier.    

In Spring, Summer and Autumn Gosau nestles in a peaceful and unspoilt valley. It is ideal as a centre for all sorts of activity holidays including walking, mountain biking, paragliding, fishing and diving.

A short drive from Gosau brings guests to numerous places of interest such as Hallstatt, Obertraun, Krippenstein, Bad Goisern, Bad Ischl, Postalm, St. Wolfgang, St. Gilgen, Russbach, Abtenau, Bad Aussee.
