Krampus & St. Nikolas Celebrations
5 - 8 December 2008

 Experience all the tradition and culture of the Salzkammergut Krampus Run taking place on 7^th December in the centre of Bad Goisern, a much-loved traditional event, which attracts many visitors to the region.

 An unforgettable sight with over 600 Krampus’ and evil demons, St. Nikolas’ and good angels who assemble in Bad Goisern’s market square.

 A festive atmosphere is created from 3pm with the Advent Folk Music.  The crowd excitedly awaits the arrival of St. Nikolas at 7pm.  St. Nikolas arrives to give out presents to children who have been well behaved…..

 Just after 7pm the fun really begins when a processsesion of Krampus’ – evil figures in their brightly coloured, grotesque looking masks and constumes take to the streets.  The evil figures from Bad Goisern will be joined by other frightful demonic figures from as far afield as Salzburg and Styria.  The crowds drink mulled wine and taunt the Krampus’ and then finally the Krampus’ mix within the spectators to cause a little mayhem………….

 A great experience, which combines well with a trip to one of the festive Advent Markets.
